J anet Molloy was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia,
where her father imported luxury textiles and her mother was a fashion designer. Through these influences Janet developed an early love of fabric and design. When she wasn’t sewing glamorous cloths for her dolls she could be found at the beach or curled up with a travel book, dreaming of distant lands. After working in the women’s apparel industry, Janet became a professional chef and studied hotel management. On her first visit to Bali in 1976, Janet felt an immediate affinity for the island and its people. Subsequent trips increased her appreciation of Bali’s unique culture and culminated in a decision to relocate permanently, which she did in 1988. In the following years Janet established three restaurants,Goddess On The Go, an eco-clothing boutique and clothing wholesale business. She also married and had two children and 2 grand children.
